Background. I only have a Verizon hotspot for data. It allows me the basic web surfing and email etc. But, I want to set up a Home Assistant system at my home and then mail it to my daughter who is far away and wanting such a system for her Airbnb. I will be doing temperature control in eight zones with a few other monitoring items. I want to test it all here first. She is not going to have the time to do the installation herself so want to do as much as I can from here. She as a hard wired internet service.
All my searching says that I need the a router service based internet to set up Home Assistant. I have only a hotspot that assigns a sub net of 192.168.43.0 etc all my devices and Ican set up static ip addresses on my subnet.
thanks
Mobile data can work, need to verify one of the options to make it publicly facing work with VZ.
What devices does your daughter’s home have?
