I’m running an older version of Zigbee2MQTT, I’m running ‘zigbee2mqtt-edge’ from months ago - I don’t know precisely which version because it just says ‘test’ next to current version, it’s probably from February this year I think.
Anyway I know from running another instance from HA at work that the current version of Zigbee2MQTT is super snazzy in comparison and SO much easier to use.
I would like to know if it’s possible to upgrade to the latest version without incurring all sorts of problems about network_keys etc?
If you are running a plain install of Zigbee2MQTT, there is no problem to simple upgrade. If you use the Zigbee2MQTT add-on, there were some changes in the configuration file if your current add-on is very old. You should check the release notes of the add-on to check what version exactly.
Thank you - I am running the add-on and I can confirm that the update worked without a hitch!
I have another query though - I wonder if you can help there too? My CC2531 has stopped allowing new devices to join even though I’ve only got 13 devices connected. Nothing is ever printed to the logs, it just silently fails.
I wonder if I can somehow reflash the CC2531 coordinator without having to repair all my devices? I’ve seen some talk that after a certain version number the pairing/handshake info is stored in the add-on rather than on the board?
Thank you, you were right, I did need to read that FAQ as I’d incorrectly understood the pairing info was stored on the transceiver!
So anyway I successfully reflashed my coordinator and immediately a random Zigbee device showed up in my list? Really confused what it is and why it’s there as I wasn’t in “allow join” mode when it appeared. I can’t get rid of it (can’t remove/delete it). Help?!
Additionally I’m trying to connect a CC2531 as an additional router and no joy whatsoever. This is highly unlikely to be the new, unidentified device as it wasn’t even plugged in when the device appeared in Z2M.
