Can I run duckdns without encryption

I’m trying to enable and expand home assistant one step at a time. My router doesn’t support loopback and I don’t want to mess around with port forwarding at this point while I’m trying to get other things working. I’d like to run duckdns without encryption.

If configure duckdns with lets_encrypt accept terms: FALSE, will that do what I want and not create other problems somewhere?:

Unless I am misunderstanding, you are not accessing HA from outside your network, why the need for duckdns?

I am accessing remotely using (ios) home assistant companion

How are you accessing remotely if you aren’t forwarding a port?

If you are accessing remotely, I would suggest using SSL otherwise all the traffic is sent unencrypted from wherever you are back home.
