Can I share an ethernet port with a Hubitat C8?

I only have one ethernet port I could use to connect a Home Assistant Green. I was thinking until I get migrated over, could I use this same ethernet connection for the Hubitat and the HA Green? I mean shut down the Hubitat, connect the HA, work on the HA, then shut down the HA, and reconnect the Hubitat? Not the best solution I know!

Get a cheap ethernet switch and plug them all in.

Make sure the ports are gigabit ports or better.
The number of ports can vary, but sometimes a 8 port switch can be cheaper than the 5 port one from the same series, because the inside is the same and the 8 port sell better so the production costs are therefore lower.
