Can I Use Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 NFC with Home Assistant?

Hey everyone,

I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the NFC feature on my Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 to control smart home devices through Home Assistant. For example, I’d love to scan NFC tags or do something similar to trigger automations, like turning on lights or controlling other devices.

Has anyone tried this before? If so, how did you set it up? Would love to hear your tips or ideas!

nfc is payments only on a watch, Google has not added the ability to do anything else as most watches lack proper hardware.
