I can no longer rename my node-red flow. I tried updating the add-on with no luck.
Try a quick reinstall. Export your flows. Delete the addon and reinstall it. If that doesn’t work you’ll need to do a clean install.
Remove nodered addon, in config folder rename the nodered folder old_nodered. In the same location as your media folder, there is a folder addon configs, rename that as well. Reinstall import your flows and deploy.
When you’re sure you have everything you need from the old install, delete the old folders.
Any other fixed before I try the reinstall? I have 20+ flows in node-red and I am so afraid of breaking it…
It’s already broken. As long as you export all your flows, you wont lose anything. Right click anywhere on the nodered workspace, choose export. In the dialog box choose all flows and export.
The simple reinstall doesn’t remove any flows or settings, everything is saved. It will take a few minutes to do. You can also create a backup of nodered, in settings, system, backup. This is the same process that occurs every time you upgrade, it’s safe.
Check the palette manager and update nodes that need to be updated.
