Can not setup ios 2.0 companion app

Hey guys , did some searching but was unable to find my problem.

Im trying to setup the companion app but every time I select my home assistant address it gets stuck at Authentication and then gives me a big red X saying “Unknown error: The request timed out.”

Anyone have any ideas?

Help us help you. What version of HA are you running? Do you use HTTP or HTTPS? Do you have self signed certificates if using HTTPS? Are you using Nabu Casa? Is your HA instance accessible locally or from the internet? Can you access HA from another machine like a PC or even a mobile web browser?
What authentication to HA do you use? Do you have the mobile_app: platform loaded? Was the previous version of the HA Companion App working if you recently updated (1.5.1)?

Sorry,
I just updated HA yesterday so current version, I use https through the duckdns addon, no Nabu Casa yet, I can access HA locally and from the internet with no problems, use my pc on my network to access it via a web browser, also recently setup homehabit on an Android tablet to use as a touchpad which works without issue, I have the mobile_app and default_config in my configuration.yaml. I used to use the old version of the app a long while ago but havent had it on this device in many months.

You likely have a different base_url to your actual address or port. Try manual setup instead of the autodetected instance, if that work’s I’m fairly confident it’ll be in your base_url…

wow, that totally worked, it looked like it was the same url that the auto detect was using but I guess it wasn’t!

Thanks!

I’ve been having this same problem for a couple of weeks now. I tried the manual setup and typing in the address but I still get the same error. I’ve tried all that I can think of and would appreciate any help available.
