I have an old RM3 that just refuses to connect to our network and I found a guide to replace and flash them with and ESP12 chip
When I opened up mine it seems I had an older version 1.3
When connected the ESP-home flasher detects it.
Does that mean you can flash these devices?

No, I bought a dedicated device with ESP instead.

Could you share which device did you get? I was also trying to flash my broadlink devices, with no success, so I am looking at other alternatives as well.
