Cannot access files via samba

I am having issues accessing my Hassio via Samba. this was set up and working properly recently, but now it does not even show up as a device on my network. Have tried various fixes. 1 thread on here suggests adding 192.168.10.0/24, this has done nothing for me. have also deleted and reinstalled the Samba addon, again nothing. added my PC IP address to the Samba config.

Have also tried settings on the PC for sharing, making sure all the boxes are checked, although as I have mentioned this has previously worked, so not sure why it has dropped out now?

Hmm, the log looks pretty similar to mine. If you were trying from another computer, did you add the IP of this computer to the allow IP list?

yes I have done this. As i have mentioned, it was working when i first set it up, but now nothing??? My HA does not even show in any network files on any other computer.

And when you type this, what you see?

If I put this into google nothing, add :8123 and it opens up my HA. Same goes for Internet Explorer.

Have done a Ping from desktop to HA Pi and this returns ok.

Yes, I am on windows 10. All the research I have done says this could be a common issue. Have done all the steps to rectify I can find, but not working. I have this afternoon however, found that my HA instance is still available if I right click on file explorer. Have mapped this to z: drive for now, but would like to get it to show up again in devices if i can.

Even some of my windows 10 PC’s don’t show up in devices.

My HA pi did show up when I first added it, but now it has gone. Luckily there is a workaround, but I would love to understand why this has happened. I think, from what I have read today, that this is a bit of a bug on windows 10. Just glad I haven’t lost some of my files that are stored the machine, or the blue screen of death, like others are finding now due to updates.

It is a bug since WfW 3.11, and really never fixed.

Thanks for confirming. In the nicest possible way, I am glad it’s not just me then. Sometimes I wonder if i have clicked the wrong thing and managed to ‘break’ something. At least i can still get access when i need too.
