This is odd in that I have changed the name of some input helpers, but not others.
The image below shows a brand new numeric input helper. The original name was “Min Charge”, and I have successfully changed it to “Dining Room Min Charge”. But this change is not reflected anywhere in the UI except for this dialog.
The icon refused to update at all, yet I have updated the icon on other identical helpers.
Bug?, “Feature”? or me missing something?
I’ve had similar issues but a lot of the times I was able to find what was preventing me from making the name change or I rebooted the system and tried again an it worked.
In a worst case scenario you could edit the name by using the File Editor and changing it in the /.storage/core.entity_registry file. Before making any changes it would be smart to make a copy of the file and name it core.entity_registry_backup just in case you accidentally change something else. When you open the file just use the search feature to find the old name and change it to the name you want. You could do the same for the entity_id.
Clear cache of the browser sometimes helped me, CTRL+f5
