I have two new 2025 LG TVs. I have them set up wired with fixed IPs. I want to enable the ‘webostv’ integration. The first step in that is to enable "LG Connect Apps’ which is meant to be in the Network section of setup on the TV. However there is no such option, only ‘Wired Connection’ and ‘Wi-Fi Connection’. There is no “LG Connect Apps” there nor under either of those sections nor can I find it elsewhere.
When I try to enable the integration, I give it the IP address of the TV and it tells me to wait for a pairing code which never comes (probably because App integration is not enabled).
I have enabled IP Network Control and any other ‘yes put my tv on the network’ settings I can find.
Does the latest WebOS no-longer support the webostv integration?
I have the same problem with 3 LG tvs of different model years all updated to the latest available WebOS available for them. All are on wired connections.
I’ve just bought a LG OLED G5.
It did not have the “LG Connect Apps” option either.
I managed to add it this way:
Settings → Support → IP Control Settings → Enable SDDP
Then I’ve added the integration via the IP and it worked.
Anyone find where this is? For reference my LG TV is on WebOS 5.something. When I click on the discovered integration it says it cant’ find the TV. I am currently on a wired static IP connection.
Note i figured this out by going to All Settings > Network > typing in 82888 and enabled SDDP and IP Control. Generated a code for good measure. Turned off and on the TV but it still won’t detect the TV. Ignored the discovered webOS entry and created a new one and manually entered my IP and it worked. Thinking the “discovered” one was when my device has been in Wi-Fi for years and didn’t bother to ask me to change it.
I wasn't sure whether to put this in as a Node Red issue or LGTV. Sorry if I got it wrong. I've been trying to get control of LG TVs from HA to work for months. I am not a software guy and am stabbing in the dark.
I've got close, but no cigar. I've done the '82888 business' with the remote and got IP control enabled. I'm using Node Red with the added palette 'node-red-contrib-lgtv'. That package has been dormant for 7 years. I was initially unable to establish connection with the tvs at all, but then discovered forks on github and support articles that explained the updated security of later LG tvs with changes to accomodate it. I tried installing recent forks that had the changes with limited success. The closest I got was with with the package 'GitHub - mrobbetts/node-red-contrib-lgtv: Node-RED Nodes to control LG webOS Smart TVs 📺 · GitHub', which connected and allowed me to control tvs, but node red typically crashed within about 20 mins of starting with the nodes installed. I'm at the end of the road. Has anybody got it working and stable?
