Cannot Remove Automations from Home Assistant that are included .YAML files

I have some older automations in their own .yaml files and included them in my configuration.yaml file. I recently deleted some of these automations from the .yaml files and even deleted the entire .yaml file but the automations are still listed in home assistant. If I try to delete the automation it states that

“Only automations in automations.yaml can be deleted.”

These automations were written a couple years ago and I don’t remember ever having this problem when developing an automation so something must have changed in Home Assistant. By the way, if I open an automation that I delete, there is just an empty screen so the automation is not being loaded but the name in the automaton list will not go away.

You mean, after reloading the YAML configuration or restarting HA they remain?

I restart HA and they remain.

Can you delete them in settings —> Devices —> Entities?

Not sure what just happened but they are gone now. I deleted the .yaml file with the old automations and restarted HA. When HA restarted the automations were still in the automation list as before. I then tried to open one of the deleted automations and AVAST set off a warning about the webpage I opened. After closing the browser and then reopening it they are now gone. Not sure why but it did solve my problem.
