Cannot see/get any updates after June 2024

I have not seen any update notifications on my HA for several weeks.

Settings → About shows
Core 2024.6.4
Frontend 20240610.1

Settings → System → Updates says “No new updates found” when I click on the circular arrow
The results are the same when “Show skipped updates” is checked.

:man_facepalming: Supervised is a trap. It is the most restrictive install type. You need to keep everything in line with ADR0014 or it breaks. You would be better off running HAOS either bare metal or as a VM.

That appears to be an old unsupported OS. See here for current supervised installation requirements: architecture/adr/0014-home-assistant-supervised.md at 8631a749058299f2b309226e1afd508ae5c12cc2 · home-assistant/architecture · GitHub

I did a bare metal install of HAOS on x86-64 system that has 2 Gb RAM and a 160 Gb disk using method 1, by booting off a Ubuntu stick and using the Disks app to write the “haos_generic-x86-64-12.4.img.xz” image to the disk.

There is no secure boot on this system and it boots legacy BIOS, it does not support UEFI boot mode. Which is why (I assume) it just shows a flashing cursor and nothing more after the system displays the BIOS summary.

Is it possible to boot the HAOS installed on /dev/sda without UEFI boot mode?

Not bare metal, no.

You can install your OS of choice and run HAOS in a VM though.

I got HAOS running in a VM (in Virtualbox on Debian 12). When it was time to upload a full backup and restore it in the new HAOS, the backups page in the old HA would not display in any web browser despite several restarts. But I manage to see all the old backups via the HA app on the phone. Any explanations for that?

I downloaded the latest full backup via the phone. Also, found the backups directory in the old HA via ssh.

Anyway, up and running again! Thank you.

I was going to say: probably due to the supervisor not running because your old system was running on an unsupported OS. But then you added:

So I have no idea.
