Cant access home assistant from browser or HDMI output

I am unable to access home assistant from http://homeassistant.local:8123/ , just get the error:
This site can’t be reached

Check if there is a typo in homeassistant.local.

  • If spelling is correct, [try running Windows Network Diagnostics](javascript:diagnoseErrors()).

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.
i have also tried using a keyboard and hdmi output but all i get is a black screen. but its deffinetly and output beacuse it stays on and turns of when the PI is in plugged.
I am using a Model b+ and it is connected to eithernet via a switch which is the smae switch my desktop is connected to
I have also tried to reinstall the image on the sd card
Any solutions?

Are you able to use the ipdress to connect? Can you ping the server, are you sure it’s responding?
