Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I am using HA OS via Proxmox.
I can remote access HA using my own domain via Cloudflared / Cloudflare Tunnel and everythings work as expected. Except for one thing (at least the only one I found so far): media files are not accessible when connected via Cloudflared to HAOS.
New files show up, but without thumbnail and the files don’t load to be viewed.
When at home using WiFi everything is fine, the videos have a preview thumbnail and can be streamed.
I think you’re going to have to share more about the whole chain. Eg. Where is the media file hosted? How is the media added to HA? What’s the network between HA and where it’s hosted? I’d guess it’s hosted somewhere other than HA. Does the stream work, but not the media? Perhaps HA is proxying the stream, but handing a network address for the media and the network isn’t made available through your cloudflare config.
What integration are you using?
I’m not very experienced with cloudflare. Just trying to think through why this would be happening.
I used tailscale instead which has been quite reliable once configured.
Hi, the file is hosted within HA in a media_source subfolder. It’s an MP4 file created by an ONVIF camera on motion detection.
The live stream of the cam is working when connected via Cloudflare Tunnel using 5G network. As mentioned, I can’t open a previous saved MP4 file.
Hope this helps.
Check companion app logs immediately after attempting to play a video? Test from a browser on your phone and check browser errors / urls. I’m sorry I won’t be more specific at helping than just giving some ideas for how to troubleshoot as I’m not familiar with your situation.
