Cant add Helper Sensor in 2025.12 live Energy Dashboard

Good Evening,

Im hoping somebody can help me with the following issue since I couldn’t find anything online, yet (probably due 2025.12 beeing still quite new).
Love the new features regarding the (Live) Energy dashboard and wanted to add my Fronius Smart Meter Real Time Power Sensors to the Energy Dashboard.
The Fronius Smart Meter is configured as (Subcounter - Subzähler) and therefore states it values in negative as can be seen here:

Tried adding the negative sensor to the energy dashboard. It lets me do this but does not seem to work.
There I created the following helper:

Which is working great and looks exactly like the original one (expect beeing positive of course):

But sadly it is not shown in the energy dashboard configuration as a valid sensor in the drop down menu (just the original one).

Hope somebody can tell me what Im missing or maybe it is a “bug” of the new version?
If I missed anything and there is already a topic regarding this: Im sorry, please let me know

Summary Helper for Energy Dashboard not working

I got it working by creating a “Helper” - “Template” - “Sensor”. Then following settings: Unit of Measurment: “kWh” Device Class: “Energy” State Class: “Total” {{ ((states(“sensor.sensor_1”) | float(0)) + (states(“sensor.sensor_2”) | float(0))) | round(2) }} Then select the Device it is connected to. This Template Sensor can be added to the Energy Dashboard.

thanks for the reply.
I actually “got this working” a few days or so.
Actually it just worked. Idk if its the HA version or maybe just a reboot? But the sensors are now shown correctly and work as expected.
