Cant add matter devices

Hi

If I go to Device > Add Device > Add Matter Device I get a message pop up that says ‘Matter is currently unavailable’

When I check the help online it says the following message but I’m on a pixel 7 with the os and all apps up to date, yet I still don’t get ‘Matter Devices’ under Devices and sharing like mentioned in below help.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello note:

WHEN I’M TRYING TO COMMISSION USING THE ANDROID APP, I GET AN ERROR STATING “MATTER IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE”

See above, make sure your device meets all requirements to support Matter. Update Android to the latest version and the Google Home and Home Assistant Companion app. To quickly verify if your device meets all requirements to support Matter, on your Android device go to Settings>Google>Devices & Sharing. There should be an entry there for Matter devices

Try with samsung smartthings

Hi Nikito, thanks For coming back to me, I don’t have any Smartthings devices, but I thought I’d try uninstalling Google Home on my phone and reinstalling it, not expecting anything to change but it unexpectedly fixed the problem.

That worked for me also.

I have a Nokia 8.3 5G, is it true that Matter is not yet available in Google home?

Thank you so much for this hint to reinstall Google Home. This also fixed it for me. Might be the case that the app was missing permissions to scan the network.
