I’m starting to move my old home automation devices to Home assistant. I have lots of Insteon devices. I want to do this slowly, a device at a time so I purchased a PLM for HA.
I was able to install the Insteon Integration, able to add the modem and was able to remove a insteon device from my old automation system and add it to HA successfully.
When I try to add my third device I get the below message. This is even before I identify the address of this third insteon device. HA doesn’t want to let me add a third device it seems.
I’m having the same problem but I found something that might help.
Goto HomeAssistant Settings-Devices and Services, Insteon, configure,+ Add Device
Once there click in the area below “Insteon device address (optional)”
(Not in the text box, but below it)
I think the button is there, you just can’t see it.
On a different note, I’ve also been trying to create an automation that uses a button on a 8 button insteon hand remote as the trigger. I read the documentation in ha for insteon. It shows an example for this in yaml. But I’m new to ha and I’ve been trying for weeks to arrive at something yaml does not complain about.
