A little background. I have been running Home Assistant alongside SmartThings for about 18 months. Originally I was running HA in a virtual machine on a Windows computer. About 3 months ago I moved HA to a dedicated Beelink Mini computer running HAOS. When Samsung Announced there paywall I decided to move everything to HA. So I have moved Z-Wave, ZigBee, Matter over Lan, Matter over WiFi, and Local WiFi devices over to HA with minimal problems. I also have BLE running on HA.
My Problem is Matter over Thread. I can not add any Matter over Thread devices to HA. I have 2 TBRs a SmartThings Station (Preferred Network) and an Amazon Echo 4th Gen. When adding them to HA it fails at the final step “Connecting to HA”
I have tried different 3 ways to bring Thread devices into HA.
- Directly adding them to HA, and HA picks the ST TBR which fails.
- Add it to SmartThings then try Multi-Admin to bring it into HA which fails.
- Add it to Alexa then try Multi-Admin to bring it into HA which fails.
I tried pairing the devices in varior areas of the house including within inches of the TBR with no luck.
Thread devices work just fine in SmartThings, and Alexa, so I don’t think it is a network problem.
4 to 6 weeks ago I was able to bring 4 Matter over Thread devices into HA from SmartThing using Multi-Admin, but they went dead after a few days. So I deleted the dead devices in HA and forgot about it. Now that I have everything else moved from ST to HA I circled back to Thread with no luck.
I have rebooted HA, WiFi router, both TBRs with no change.
I have deleted and readded the Thread integration several times.
When I click the info. button in Thread I get the following info:
