Can't change my SSH password

I have HA OS on Raspberry Pi.

OS Version: Home Assistant OS 10.3
Home Assistant Core: 2023.6.3

No matter if I use PUTTY or HA terminal, my SSH password does not change,

➜ ~ passwd
Changing password for root
New password:
Retype password:
passwd: password for root changed by root
➜ ~

But it is still the old password that works.

What is wrong?

The password is being set at startup by the Terminal & SSH add-on configuration.

So how to change it now?
Apparently it is too weak bceause FTP add-on is complaining.
passwd command does not seem to work.

Why does it say "Changing password for root if I am logged in as pi
At the end it says “password for root changed by root” but I still can only log in with the old password for user “pi”.

Or have I screwed something up?
Because my username for HA webserver (profile) is “Robert”.
