Cant connect to WIFI local access point

Hello,

I am trying to switch over from Node-Red to Home Assistant today and have run into a strange problem. My current setup is a raspberry pi 3 connected to an Arduino mega. The unit is based in a garage with no elegant way to run an ethernet cable to the device. I therefore normally start with ethernet close to the router (as a headless unit through ssh), setup WIFI and then move the unit back to the garage.

There appears to be an issue with my install once I try move over to WIFI connection. I see the surrounding routers access points but not the one located in the house (closest to the unit). I’ve tried connecting through the CLI and no success either. The Node-red SD card (Raspberry Pi OS - Buster) connects to WIFI without issues. In the past I had Arch Linux installed with no issues either.

Is there something I’m missing in the configuration of Home Assist that I’m not seeing? Any help would be much appreciated!

For anyone experiencing the same problem.

Unfortunately no progress on this issue. Definitely something specific to Home-Assistant. I wonder how many years this has been a problem!

Anyway the work around was to use an ethernet bridge using the wifi access point HA couldn’t see.
