Can't Install Homekit Controller - wants me to enter code to a device that shouldn't be added

I cannot install Homekit controller because it wants me to pair a Hue Outdoor Sensor, which I cannot do.

I do have a Hue Outdoor Sensor, and it is paired with my hue hub and is in the Apple Home app. However, I do not need this device in Home Assistant and I have no way of adding it because it is asking for a pairing code.

I tried removing the batteries on the hue sensor so that I could install Homekit controller - and Homekit controller still finds the device somehow. I do not have a second Hue Outdoor Sensor.

How do I skip this step so that I can installl the Homekit Controller?

HomeKit Controller is used to integrate devices that do not have a more specific component. If you want to export your existing devices from Home Assistant to HomeKit, you should use the “HomeKit” integration, not the HomeKit Controller integration.

I have HomeKit devices that are paired to HomeKit that I would like to expose to Home Assistant to use in automations. How would I do that? They don’t show up in HA with the HASS bridge.

You would need to unpair them from HomeKit first. Then they’ll be visible to Home Assistant. Once paired, you can export them back to HomeKit via the HASS bridge.

When the Homekit-Controller pops up saying it "wants you to pair the Hue-sensor, or any sensors/Devices you wont, you click “Ignore this …”
… unfortunately you will eventually have several “Ignored” i your integrations-section, i have ( Ignored ) for both Homekit-Controller, Tuya, UPnP, DNLA, BLE …

You will only see those “ignored” if you “tick-the-options” in the top right under Integrations …

I.E as you see TRADFRI, that’s IKEA-Hub, integrated in the IKEA-Integration … and after a certain “update” Homekit-Controller started to bother me with requests to pair this, regardless of it already was paired, and integrated in Ikea-Integration … weird, annoying , thou again small things in life, that i wouldn’t give a second thought, beside when i get reminded

Not sure, how it works with Hue and Apple hubs. But I use a Ubisys Homekit compatible hub for Zigbee devices, and the hub does export all devices to HA Homekit controller.

When the HA Homekit Controller is installed, it ask for this pairing code, then I need to enter the menu of the Ubisys hub, activate access for external controllers and the hub then gives me the needed code.
After that, all the devices hanging on that hub are exposed to HA and controllable from HA.

So I think, it is somewhat similar for you. The code must be given to you from Apple app or from the Hue hub.

So you don’t want to pair that one device (outdoor sensor) with HA directly, but the hub, which controls it.

How? would you add it back when you cannot get it into Homekit with on ipad o rin Home Assistant? It does not seem to find the Aqara Sensors though they are easily detected by Zigbee in HA so Im clueless to Homekit Im no fan of anything Apple really and have no real setups for it but thought to give it a try buying a ipad
