Can't Log In - Change Local Acess Only from CLI?

Just started with HA, installed directly on an X86-64 machine, this is the second time I installed it to move it to a smaller drive. I had no problem accessing either install from any computer on my local netork. Today as I was investigating options to learn the system better, I changed access to local only since at this time I will not be accessing the system other than at home. After I restarted the machine I can no longer access HA and get the message “Error: Login blocked: User cannot authenticate remotely”

I tried changing the password from the CLI but am still locked out. I reviewed the ‘I’m locked out’ page but didn’t find a solution.

Before I reinstall again, is there a way to change the local access from the HA CLI? Are there any other solutions?

It should not say that if the PC you are attempting to log in from is on your local network (same IP range).

If you are using the companion app, make sure it is using the internal URL not the external URL.

If it still does not work you can connect a keyboard and monitor to the HA server and edit the configuration.yaml file from there.

All the computers are on the same local network, HA had been accessible before the change to local access. I had access via several browser instances on different computers and tablets. I had just finished adding HACS and installing Alarmo. I am new to HA so I decided to browser thru the options in ‘Settings’ to learn more about the program. I found the local access option, changed it, restarted HA and then could not log in

I have a keyboard and monitor hooked up - how do I access the configuration.yaml file from the HA CLI? I did not see a way to navigate the directories from there.
Thanks

Hi

Followed the instructions on editing the configuration.yaml file. There are only 11 lines there, none suggest anything about access. Can you tell me what I should be looking for? It looks like the first 11 lines on this web page

Thanks

Where did you do that?

In the GUI for a person?

In that case you would need to delve into the hidden .storage folder. I have no idea where.

I’ll just re-install, less trouble
