I shut off my raspberry 4 and removed the sd card because i wanted to run a system i had on a different card. When i returned my homeassistant SD, i cant login. When i first set up home assistant, at the prompt i made a username and password. I beleive this is the same user/pw i use to sign in to the UI as the account owner. Now since i restarted the the HA after reusing the card, it tells me the login is incorrect.
What do i do now?
Those options dont work. When HA starts, i get a prompt on the screen that says
welcome to home assisntant
homeassistant login:
Is this login the same as i use when logging in as the account owner on the web GUI or is this something different? I went into the console and did
auth reset --username existing_user --password new_password
It said it completed successfully but i still cant login at the command line.
Is there a different username and password that i should be using?
I’m locked out too! I created an account for the first time and then was playing around in the dashboard. My session must have timed out because when I went back to homeassistant.local:8123 I am not longer able to log in. I see error “invalid username or password” every time. I’m 100% positive my U/P are correct.
I tried resetting the password in the command line but I received an unknown error.
Any other tips or do I need to rebuild the whole VM?
Just follow the instructions in the link I posted. They do work.
There’s no way the Start a new onboarding process can fail but it is the last resort try the other options first.
How do I access the storage folder or the configuration file? I am running on synology VMM.
All I can do right now is get to the HA command line. I do receive a message at the top “Waiting for the Home Assistant CLI to be ready…” that never goes away.
Did you set up SSH or SAMBA?
Didn’t have a chance. I literally logged in for the first time, played around a little bit, went to the forums here, and now I can’t log back in.
I can enable SSH on the NAS…
Maybe I’ll just re-create the whole install. Do you have any idea why my login credentials or the process got corrupted so quickly?
Can you access the share you set up for the docker container (if you are using a Container install type)?
None sorry.
