Can't restore from a backup

Hi, I had a Raspberry PI4 installation of HA that was working fine. I then bough a Terramaster NAS, and I want to get rid of the Pi4 and install HA as a virtual machine in Virtualbox.

I can create the VM, install HA and everything works. However, when I try to restore from a backup, I am able to restore only the addons. For the rest of the configuration, I have several problems:

  • It disconnects and changes IP, thus losing connection
  • I haven’t any dashboard
  • Configuration files are not imported

I have still access to the old installation, maybe I should backup again from there? Or has anyone another solution?

the backup consists as well of the ip - so when you changes the ip you will get into trouble.

If you have an unencrypted backup, you can open the .tar with 7Zip and copy the files over manually.
