When this happens, reloading the web page usually fixes it for me.
The codebollocks codeblocks plugin Home Asistant uses is rather rubish at the moment. It’s full of upstream faults. Not much Home Assistant devs can do about it.
I just installed 2002.4 but have the same problem when I tested in Developer Tools.
Can’t edit in the example for template.
Impossible to select text but I can place the cursor and write text, remove text.
Seems that it’s only selecting text that’s not working.
If i double-click on a word in the yaml editor my marker jumps to the end of that word.
Nothing gets marked. If it were an invisible marking then I would not see the blinking marker at the end of the word.
I also tried with my linux computer running Chrome and it behaved just the same.
Also tried to disable all extensions yesterday, same result.
Running in incognito mode gives the same result.
It’s really strange…
Is there any settings within Home Assistant regarding the code editor?
Seems unlikely to me that it’s the browser since I have the exactly same problem with browsers on three different computers. Two of them running Chrome, one is running MS Edge
Haven’t tried Firefox as browser though.
On the other hand it works to copy text with the Android app on my mobile so the problem is with desktop browsers.
It’s the theme that’s messing things up.
The theme is a common thing between browsers since I’m using back-end selected themes switching through automations based om sunset/sunrise.
I switch between two themes from the same author so there is a problem with both themes…
Tried to mark and copy text eventhough it didn’t looked that I were selecting anything and when pasting in Notepad++ the text I selected was pasted.
Sorry for wasting your time…
But a big thank you for leading me in the right direction!
