I use Nexia for my home automation - I have a plethora of lights, switches, door sensors, water sensors, etc, all of which are ZWave devices and connect to the Nexia hub, which communicates with the Nexia servers. I installed the Nexia integration, thinking I might have access to these things, but instead it looks like HA only pulls up the automations, not the individual devices. So I can click “activate” to run an automation if I want, but I can’t see the current status of my lights and such. I also can’t see my thermostat - a Trane ZWave device, but not one that has a built in hub. This severely limits the usefulness of HA for me.
I scanned the Nexia/Trane hub to see if it was exposing anything, but all ports are closed, so no help there. All I have is the web portal, which I provided credentials to via HA.
I just started playing around with Home Assistant this weekend, so there’s a chance I’m missing something obvious although from searching, I’m assuming the functionality I’m looking for isn’t available. I’m just trying to confirm if I should be doing anything else, or if I should think about migrating off of Nexia/Trane to something else like SmartThings for better control over my Zwave devices.
Thanks all!
