Running HAOS 2024.10.4 on a bare metal NUC, and backing up with the backup service to a folder on my NAS mounted to my HA server as a Samba share.
I have a daily/monthly/quarterly/yearly backup schedule and I manually go in and delete old backups every week or two. When I go to System > Backups it never shows any backups even though I’ve left it several minutes to load. When I check the folder on the NAS I can see it is still backing up every night. I just can’t access the backups in the HA web interface.
I’ve tried rebooting my HA server and recreating the storage location with no luck. I don’t see any obvious related errors in the Core or system logs. I’m at a loss.
Anyone else seeing this problem? Any suggestions for other troubleshooting steps?
I have a similar setup and in my case, there is often a delay in getting the Backups web page to update, but its usually like 10 seconds or less. One thing to try is on the Backups Page, click on the 3-dots and select Reload to see what happens.
I’ve seen something similar with my Synology NAS as remote folder. Viewing backups in HA always takes longer and longer with more files. Then once it gets to 100 or so files, it just never comes up. If I start deleting old ones, it starts displaying again at a certain point. Not sure of exact count, but seems like 100 or thereabouts.
Same here. The first time I went to view backups after setting up the storage share, I panicked, but then realized there was a delay. I’ve tried reload on that page but it didn’t seem to make a difference, unfortunately.
Interesting. I currently have 64 backup files in that folder taking up ~76GB. I’ll try deleting a few one by one and reloading the backups page and see if it starts showing up again. I hadn’t noticed it taking longer with more files, but if that’s the case it makes me wonder if whatever is reading the directory contents has a race condition / timeout problem.
