(Carrier Grade NAT) Unable to access my HA remotely

HI all,

I have been banging my head to find out why I was not able to access my HA remotely after setting up the port forwarding.

Then I found out my Fibre connection is behind CGNAT !! Arghhh. So, no port forwarding is possible and my ISP basically said they’re aware but no ETA of allowing this.

So… what’s the other way of getting this to work? I have DuckDNS all set up. Just that I can’t access it externally. :frowning:

Any tips?

Thanks.

Tony

Have you tried CloudFlare tunnel? It’s a great option if you have control of your domain’s DNS. Much simpler to setup than DuckDNS too.

Alternatively, you can also use a VPN like tailscale, if your only goal is connectivity between your phone and HA, not actually opening up your HA to the world

Thank you, both. They looks good and will be giving both of them a test. Thanks.

Very impressed with Tailscale - so easy to setup & use. I’ll use this long term and see how I get on. Thanks.

Os there any way to make the HA app work with cloudflared? I can login fine, but as soon as my token expires the Appa doesn’t ask me to sign in again through Cloudflare, it just keeps retrying… Only way to fix it is to delete and reinstall HA app.

Browser works fine though.

Hmm im using cloudflared Tunnel for my HA setup as well, never had this issue.

What is this token you speak of? HA token or cloudflared token?
