I have HA (HassOS) running on a VM with a Windows host. The Windows host also runs my Plex server. For any other noobs out there who are using the Home Assistant OS and can’t mount a share to their HA, running Plex sever on your Windows machine is a great way to use your external hard drives and such for Plex libraries. Just install the Plex integration in HA and you’re good to go.
Question:
My Plex casts music to a headless Pi in my house (on Ubuntu). In my Pi, I’ve logged in to my Plex server on FireFox and set FireFox to open tabs from previous session, and added FireFox to startup programs. So, I can expect FireFox to startup and log in to Plex with every boot (so it’s always ready to receive music casts). …and this seems to be a “good enough” solution but perhaps not the best. Is there a better solution? I cannot find a Plex client for linux.
