I’ve been looking at some cat doors, but am not overly impressed. Most of the affordable cat flaps use magnetics to look the door in place. Most of them are not overly solid, and other cats still can get in with a little persistence.
So I thought using a shelly 2.5 (used for motorized curtains), add a motor to it, and use a RIFD reader to trigger the sliding door. This way, I could get close to the ‘High Tech Pet Power Pet Electronic Pet Door’. With the addon that I can insulate the door, and make it more solid than the usual Sure Petcare Microchip, which get rather bad reviews (not closing properly…).
The main issue I have is which rfid reader I should use, for I am lost a litte. So suggestions very welcome, over wifi indeed.
