Hello,
I am going to buy a cable to connect my device and I do not understand the types.
I’m not familiar with this, consider choosing CAT5e or CAT6.
I searched on Google and saw a blog, is it true or not?
Can anyone advise me and tell me why?
Thank you in advance.
That page explains most of it, yes. In practice i guess you won’t need 10gbit speed, since you probably don’t have equipment so fast (or do you?). It’s more difficult to mount rj45 connector on cat6 cable, since it has that plastic in the middle, and it’s thicker, so you need suitable connectors for it.
I would use shielded cat5e cable to reduce possible noise if you have noisy environment. I have shielded cat5e cables for all my connections, everywhere i have gigabit connection and all runs perfect. All my equipment is gigabit capable, too (1 gbit, not 10).
