CC2531 Issue - Raspberry Pi - Zigbee2MQTT

Hi

I’m new to Home Assist and trying to setup Zigbee on Home Assistant on a rasberry pi.

I’ve setup the broker and installed and setup zigbeetomqtt but get the following message on startup:

Zigbee2MQTT:error 2021-04-20 13:04:47: Error while starting zigbee-herdsman
Zigbee2MQTT:error 2021-04-20 13:04:47: Failed to start zigbee
Zigbee2MQTT:error 2021-04-20 13:04:47: Exiting…
Zigbee2MQTT:error 2021-04-20 13:04:47: Error: Error while opening serialport ‘Error: Error: Operation not permitted, cannot open /dev/bus/usb/001/009’

Looks like it can’t communicate with the USB device on that port.

I got the port name from the supervisor log:

21-04-20 12:04:02 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.hardware.monitor] Detecting HardwareAction.ADD usb hardware /dev/bus/usb/001/009.

Can anyone point me in the direction of what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks

Whats in your z2m config file for section.

serial:
  port: /dev/?

Usually it’s /dev/ttyACM1 or /dev/ttyACM0 .
For a cc2531 stick.

You did flash the CC2531 with the Zigbee2MQTT firmware ? The original firmware does not work with Zigbee2MQTT, and does not expose a serial port.

This :

makes me think you did not.

Read: Supported Zigbee adapter
" Previously the Texas Instruments CC2531 was the most recommended adapter. This adapter is not recommended anymore since it’s not very powerfull, doesn’t have good range and struggles with larger network (20+ devices). It also requires additional hardware to flash the firmware, see [Flashing the CC2531].", replace it with recommended adapter.
I have same problem it’s not stable for couple months already, But was good for couple years. I did order new adapter,

Thanks Vlad - what adapter do you recommend ? - also it was suggested it was already flashed for zigbee2mqtt

I did order Tindie

Slae.sh still not available.
Anyway both must be flashed.
