A kit with antenna is available as well.
Hello Aleksei. I am extremely interested to get double of this adapter. But I could not find any review or any one tried it before. I am running CC5231 on z2m but not happy with the range and stability. Will this be working directly on HA with z2m? Will ir plug and play?
Thanks.
Hi sallwm,
That requires some configuration to start. Need to configure serial port setting on RPI. I’m prepping an image (instructions) for hassio now. But working with serial ports on RPI has never been to easy.
Once ready I’ll post it here.
In about 2 week (mid-late Febrary) i’m going to release more plug & play-ish solution. USB based, with the same hardware.
Thank you Aleksei. How to you compare this solution to the CC2652R stick in term of coverage and stability?
I don’t have cc2652 at hands, therefore can talk about it only from “theoretical” point of view.
Stability - wise: it is all about firmware implementation, traffic, wifi, etc. Decision can be made only by trying both in same environment - can’t judge here.
What I’m hesitant about in CC2652 is that it is multi-protocol. Specialized things usually are a bit better than universal.
But I’m considering 2652 for the next version, especially if i’m able to join it with 2592.
Thanks. I have been looking for a stable solution with larger coverage. So far, I tried CC2531 with antenna and Conbee II. Conbee II is way better but I would like to stick with zigbee2mqtt which is not compatible with Conbee yet. I read a lot about many solution but still could not find one solution that most people agreed on. I need to have a robust system for a three levels house!
Hi Aleksei,
Is it ready now? I am interested in plug n playish zigbee USB with good range/coverage
