Cctv cameras - best to integrate with HA?

Hi there,

I purchased some Zomodo cameras back in 2014 and well before i had any home assistant system. I was only able to integrate those in to HA by running them on a phone server through the app TinyCam Pro, but it worked and worked very well.

Now with the newer and higher tech cameras on the market, its time for me to upgrade my home cctv system with the latest and greatest feature cameras with face and number recognition etc. But i don’t want to make any wrong purchases of the hardware.

Please could i ask the community which cameras are easily integrated in to Home Assistant and offer the best interaction for control and recording/ taking security photos etc…

I don’t have ability to run CATS cables but do have available power from adaptors plugged in to the house sockets and the low voltage wrote running through the window frames to the camera location. So WiFi connection is a must. I will be using my new TESLA Starlink for home Internet as I’m in a remote location.

Thank you for any advice and recommendations…

You might want to start here and see which camera integrations are available for Home Assistant.

I personally use AXIS for some of the best onboard AI functionality and triggers for Home Assistant. They are more expensive than most non-commercial cameras, but they do make a wireless indoor camera if that’s your only option. AXIS M1075-L Box Camera | Axis Communications

You might want to check out Reolink or Amcrest if you want something a little more mainstream for home use.
