I am trying to get CEC Scanner working. I install the addon, ive restarted many times but iu keep seeing the below logged. The service then stops. Any ideas? My HA is plugged in to the screen with a HDMI cable.

Same here. I installed the add-on for the first time a few days ago. I’m running hass os on a bare metal x86 machine.

I connected the HDMI port on my motherboard to an AVR I use for audio only that does support HDMI CEC: my chromecast turns it on. Tried two different HDMI cables and two different HDMI ports on the AVR. The logs look the same whether I have an HDMI cable connected or not.

I’ve been poking around to see if there’s a way to find out of hass os is recognizing the HDMI hardware, but short of lugging a monitor over there and plugging it in, I’m coming up empty.

Same here! Hasn’t worked since I installed it. I get the same log entry as you. I see there hasn’t been any help on this which is rare!

Were you able to get anywhere with this?
