Searched through a couple of threads, but wasn’t able to find a good direction. I am looking to see if anyone has suggestions for smart ceiling fans? Starting with a blank slate here. No fan yet, but controlled by a dumb three-way light switch.
A lot of the vendors out there for “smart fans” seem to be closed/proprietary systems? Any suggestions on fan and/or switch combos to buy for the optimal hass integration?
Were you able to figure out a solution to smart fan integration into HA? I am surprised how limited my options may be in order to control my “dumb” Emerson fan.
Looking for a Homekit (preferably, or z-wave) wall switch to control the fan and light.
Looks like the best solution I have found is a product called BOND that requires / learns the code from the remote for the fan, and then can be controlled currently thru Alexa and Google.
I think I too will end up using a regular smart switch. I can always change the drawstrings or utilize the remote manually, but at least I can turn the fan on with that switch.
GE/Jasco makes a Z-wave+ fan controller. They also make a non-plus version as well if that is your thing. I have a few of the plus version and they work well. The only thing to keep in mind is that they are dependent on the fan and its light being wired separately.
