Challenge finding suitable weather station

Hi,

I have been looking at weather stations mentioned by other users but my situation makes it a bit difficult to find the right one.
I am also a HAM radio opertaor and I have an antenna tower in my back yard, the perfect place to mount an external weather station unit. The tower is about 25-30meters behind my house and the unit would be 12 meters of the ground up in the tower.
Would the communication still work over that distance? are there wired weather stations that are compatible with HA?

I am using this one…

Ecowitt

So far it is running like a dream, connects beautifully with HA, here’s the weather page on my dashboard.

and is very quick, I too have it way down the garden, it is WiFi but as I was throwing a hardwire down that end of the garden anyway I added a mesh node and it connects to that.

How far is your external unit away from the base station?
These units use 48x mhz for data and the base station connect to the wifi. I think that the distance between the external unit and the base station is too large.

How did you come up with that frequency? Copied from the Amazon link provided above:

weather stations with outdoor sensor wireless uk
Specification
Transmission distance in open field 100 m (330 ft.) RF Frequency 868 MHz.

You don’t specify where you are, in the US these Ecowitt devices use a different frequency.

Hi, I am from the Netherlands. I got that frequency from one of the models I looked at.
The frequency is not a real problem but the distance is.

The unit is strapped to the roof of the Gym and the receiver is inside so about 4m.
