I have a tasker profile that connects/disconnects my phone from tailscale when I connect or disconnect from my home wifi.
My home assistant server has a different address on each case, so I’ve added a server for each. I can use the three finger swipe to switch, but ideally tasker could just switch the server or address when it’s changing the VPN state.
So, is it possible to have tasker switch the active server? Or can I use some other trick to have the app “do the right thing”?
What is wrong with the automatically selected companion app url’s / IP’s - local and external?
I am not using tailscale but instead my own external URL direct from cloudflare, so I have that url as the external, and then the internal as http://###.###.###.###:8123 (the ###.###.###.### being my HA server IP) in the companion app…
You can actually have in my case a DNS redirect within adguard for the local network from the URL to the local address as well so the external and internal URL/IP in the companion app could both be the same url anyway… but not sure if what I am saying how that applies to your specific use case anyway…?
There is a way to do multiple houses - but it is done through setting up the same HA instance within some kind of integration to show both within the same UI. But from what you are saying I would think you could have multiple subdomains and just use a browser for separate shortcuts to each -
