Change Entity ID

I’m trying to follow the steps here to change an entity ID: Customizing entities - Home Assistant

but I keep getting the red notice saying that the ID is invalid.

My entity is binary_sensor.3rd_reality…

I would like to change it to binary_sensor.GarageDoor

What am I missing here?

You can use capital letters in the friendly_name, or name, but not the entity_id. Entity ids must be all lower case letters.
