what resolution does your graphic on your NUC support ?, what resolution does your “end” device support ?, are you using a “cheap-looong” HDMI cable ? , force on host ?, doubt it … choose yes, choose something that is not supported, nope … so your question is kind of “a half blowing wind”
My display and cables are working fine. I just need to reduce the resolution from 2160p@30, in order to be able to type from my sofa without standing up, because the font is very small (the NUC is connected to my living-room 4K TV).
some(probably most) new 4K TV’s scale up, if possible (from source), i didn’t asked if your device/cable( were working fine) , but now that i know your end-point is your 4K TV AND that you wanted to reduce your resolution ), reducing resolution on TV, with a fixed resolution, in this case 4K, will always be 4K, old CRT was another area, “source” Both my 4K TV, shows 1080p when connecting My Windows laptop ( which only support 1080 ), … and 2160 when that is supported from another laptop, so it doesn’t matter if i change the settings in windows to 1920x1080( on latest laptop), windows will “adapt” txt-size (i.e. resize txt + 150-300%)etc ( and 4K TV actually just double the lines/pixels from a 1920x1080 source, and the result will be the same . … if you can’t change/forse resolution/txt-size on the grafic-card / OS level on your NUC , grafic output, not even a HDMI 1.4 cable will probably not help you, as it is capable of showing 4K at 24, and HDMI EDID, most likely figure out that your NUC is capable of deliver 4K … damn im glad for my windows OS host … scale up TXT from source, either in Browser or OS, fixed pixel-size will always be the same
Is there an answer to this question as I am having similar issues. Normally on Raspbian I would edit /root/config to make things work. Is there a similar file in the HAos?
This is a good point!
