Change URL that Google Assistant uses to communicate with HA?

When I first setup HA to work with Google Assistant, I followed one of the many guides I found online – right down to using a duckdns address. I’ve since setup my own custom domain name. Does anyone know of a way to change the URL that Google Assistant uses when trying to contact HA?

More often than not, when I tell Google Assistant to turn something on or off within HA, I am told that HA “is not available”.

TIA!

Hi Doni49,

Thanks. But that’s not what I’m asking about. To allow GA to communicate with HA, there was a drawn out process that involved telling Google that it can communicate with HA via myhome.duckdns.org.

I now want to change that to app.mydomain.com.

Did you ever find an easy solution to this? I changed my site certificate to a wildcard so, I have a new (DDNS) url now. Racking my brain on where this was set. Originally, I set up my HASS instance in Google’s Cloud platform to link GA to it in Google home. Thought you may have cracked it over the past few months. Cheers

I ended up switching to Nabu Casa. Even without the issue I was dealing with in this post, I had also been fighting with issues of them telling me that HA wasn’t available. Everything I read indicated that was an issue with using DuckDuckGo.

I haven’t had issues since then. But I’m still switching to HA’s voice assistant. I finally have enough satellites to replace them all.

For anyone ending up here for this:

I found this in the Google Developer Console.
https://console.home.google.com/projects

This is still the same URL in the Guide

Step One

Once in the Console click on your project.
Then into Cloud To Cloud. Here there’s several URL. Three of them (at least in my case) Were pointing to my HA instance.

Cheers
