Purchased a pack of SP10 WiFi Switches because they were on sale. SP10 WiFi Switches at Amazon
Added them in the Smart Life app. Then following the instructions in this post using IFTTT I was able to easily use them in our house!

Thanks! I was looking at those and wondering if they’d work with HA.
My next question would be: Is there any way to access them directly, on the LAN, without going out to IFTTT?
I have seen several videos on YouTube on how to do this but it requires disassembly and soldering.
Try Tuya-Convert.
I have used it (with no experience) after some troubleshooting (you need Ethernet connected I guess and also had to change the config file as my WiFi and Ethernet were named differently).
Anyway, this allows you to push a BIN file (tasmota, espHome, etc.) to put custom firmware on the device.
I’ve used tuya-convert and successfully changed 2 devices to being local sonoff instead of server based. But, in my ignorance, I bricked one of them . . . whoops! The other isn’t bricked but I can’t seem to get it to talk to my home assistant mqtt (built-in) instance. I’ve done a netstat to make sure the port is listening but can’t seem to get things configured. If you can point me to some guide it would be greatly appreciated. --TIA–
Here is the info about the sonoff firmware running on the plugs:
