I’m hunting down the cheapest Zigbee compatible smart plugs available, can anyone recommend any. Most appear to be significantly more expensive than the WiFi variants
Ikea Tradfri too expensive?
Also depends on what functionality you require. Only switching, dimming, energy measuring, maximum power (150W, 2500W).
I won’t be plugging anything with a high load into then so 10A rating or even lower would do (13A rating would be a nice to have).
Dimming is NOT something I think I require but I would like energy monitoring if possible.
There are so many very cheap WiFi based plugs available with ALL the features I require that can be bought for under £10 each I’m finding it rather frustrating trying to find a Zigbee type without spending 3 times as much
Ikea is the cheapest. Its £10 IIRC
I have a couple of these, so whilst not an actual socket, they are cheap as chips: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000165208932.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.31e4fd36t3kwzJ&algo_pvid=acf0f905-f7f5-42b4-a069-fb72a8677d65&algo_expid=acf0f905-f7f5-42b4-a069-fb72a8677d65-28&btsid=84185b42-f607-442e-b365-99cb00bfe92e&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_6,searchweb201603_55
Thanks. How are you using them? Lights, Sockets or something else?
I use them for outside floodlights as well as a string of fairy lights… in deconz the device comes up as a light, but you can change the device type in HA…
Essentially however, they should be able to control anything with a cord (obviouls checking the amps etc)
I second Ikea Tradfri. Only thing I wish it had was a button for manual override
It does not appear that there is a UK version of this plug available but it could be this https://www.savemoneycutcarbon.com/product/ledvance-smartplus-plug-white-zigbee-2019/?gclid=CjwKCAiA3uDwBRBFEiwA1VsajEdVv9_62HFvOPS9zC9kZ6C63SswXwwHwRtZY7VrzzPJmKJFtHsQORoCOPAQAvD_BwE
Looks like ledvance is the brand:
This should be the corresponding product:

Problem with OSRAM is that they are not measuring power consumption. So you cannot use them for some automations.
