Checking up on my HA instance

Hey all…I run HA on a NUC on my home network. I subscribe to NabaCasa so that I can use my mobile to check in and control my home remotely. Does anyone know of a way to get an email/txt alert when HA looses its connection (ie. when it crashes). This would be helpful as I have the means to remotely restart the server but right now, I don’t know its crashed unless I cannot connect via NabaCasa or my wife calls me to tell me “the lights didn’t turn on AGAIN.”!!! Thanks in advance.

The Healthchecksio integration from HACS checks in with healthchecks.io every five minutes. If they don’t hear from your HA instance for x minutes they send you an email. You have to have an account, but the basic one is free.

The system works very well, but in my experience it’s nearly always a router problem rather than a HA crash. I use the DNS IP integration to monitor the internet connection and if that goes down HA reboots the router (it’s on a Zigbee socket).

works perfectly. Maybe a coincidence but, the fact that HA is checking in so often may be why my install is now almost 100% stable. Never been this good in years.
