Choice of materials for a new home automation system

Hello,
I have just started my home automation installation. I would like to first control my lighting without modifying the existing installation.

I watched what protocol to use. I think I use the protocol wifi or zigbee because the material z-waze is too expensive. Is there a better choice?

I’m looking for a solution other than Philip Hue because I do not want to change all the light bulbs in my house. So I thought about Shelly 1 One or Xiaomi Mijia Aqara. Do you have other solutions or advice?

thank you in advance

hey there!
do you stumbled over the Ikea trader things? there also a bit interesting, but also look for Tuya switches and sonoffs - i do love the shelly:) but all must be flashed with tasmota=)

Xiaomi is great, decent price but chinese servers, dunno if you want go that way - or you have to build a zigbee2mqtt bridge.
