Thanks again for your replies, @wmaker and @peterxian .
As a solution, it can be said that the “best” solution depends on the personal situation. Here would be my takeaways:
- If you already have hardware in your system that servers as a TBR, you can just use this (solution #3). This is easily done and reliable.
- Solution #1 is probably the best, if you have no existing hardware with TBR capability.
- For solution #4, there is hardly any experience in the community.
- @all: If you have something to add, please add your experiences!
- Especially the combination of WiFi and Thread routers seems to be very interesting (to my knowledge, currently some Amazon Eero routers and the Google Nest Wifi Pro (Wi‑Fi 6E) support this).
- Solution 2 is discouraged (at least for the specific device I mentioned, see reply by @wmaker).
- There seems to be little usage of other devices similiar in the community. If you can report something, please add your thoughts!
I decided to use a ZBT-1 (solution #1). It’s definitively not a bad option, time will tell how happy I am. So far, I can’t report much - the setup was okay (I tried to rename the Thread network, but failed doing so; the rest was flawless), but I only have one Thread device so far. This works without issues. More devices will follow in the next months, I will post an update then.
