Clarification on WYZEv3 cameras

Hi all…
I’m looking to add cameras HA. I really like the Wyze v3 cameras; the color night vision is really desirable. The main issue I have is I do not want any video clips being saved to the cloud. That said id prefer if they have no connection at all to the outside world. It’s unclear from what I have read if this is completely possible for what I want. I know there is the new Wyze RTSP firmware as well as a home assistant module. The RTSP streams I can feed into something like MontionEye or Frigate; that’s clear enough. But does the home assistant module require the cameras to be connected with the Wyze server? The other cameras I have been looking at are the EZVIZ lineup. The same questions apply, does the HA module require them to be connected to their server, or can the be kept off-line.

My requirements are:

  • RTSP or a video stream that can be captured by a local NVR
  • They can be turned on and off via a HA automation (Privacy mode)
  • HA receives motion events from the cameras.

If I REALY have to I suppose that the 2nd of those criteria could be a small relay controlled by HA. I was thinking of adding a backup battery to the cameras anyways.

Many thanks.
