Since recently migrating my Insteon control schedule to HA, I’ve noticed that the scheduled events in the hub are still functioning, but at incorrect times. It seems that maybe the hub clock has drifted. Is there any way to clear the hub schedules to remove these untimely events?
Similar issue here. About 50 Insteon devices but only a few scenes / schedules. My research this AM says scene information is stored in each module and that the hub only sends out ‘scene ##’ commands. If that’s true, the only approach that is guaranteed to work is to factory reset each module and rebuild the scene in your software. I’m using HOOBS and Apple Home so working through the learning right now.
Good luck and let us all know if there’s a shortcut to killing old Insteon scenes!
I have the same issue. Want to clear all of the schedules on the Insteon Hub so that I can just use HA to do the schedules and not have two devices compete against each other with different schedules. I have looked all over for an answer and nobody seems to answer this question.
If I have successfully imported all my linked insteon devices into HA, am I now free to factory reset my hub? If I am understanding how this is now working, the Insteon hub is simply a dumb modem that HA passes commands through, correct? Or does the hub need to retain all of it’s settings in order to work with Home Assistant?
Have you found a solution/answer to this problem? I too have scheduled scenes that are drifting by a few minutes every week. I don’t need those schedules anymore since all the Insteon devices are recognized by Home Assistant. I’m guessing there are a few thousand of us waiting for a way to delete the old schedules.
After posting the original question, I searched the internet some more for a solution and found this discussion:
Having recently installed HA after Insteon vaporized, importing and naming all of the devices went like clockwork. Once new automation schedules were created in HA, that’s when I started noticing that the old schedules in the hub were still active (although out of sync). I did the factory reset on the hub as follows (clipped from the Insteon website):
HA reconnected to the hub and everything has been humming along. I disabled some of the HA scheduled automations to see if the hub schedule still triggered - they never did! Re-enabled the HA automations - and we’re back on track an in control - no cloud required!
Hope this helps …
Did you have to do anything to reconnect your devices or was everything still there in HA after the factory reset of the hub?
CJason, I have the same question as buckeyefan58 just asked. I have 60 devices and dread the thought of having to add them all back into HA after factory resetting my Insteon Hub (2245-222 v2). Did HA retain all of your devices after you factory reset the Insteon Hub?
HA just kept on runnin’ like nothing happened!
(Much to my relief.)
Great to hear!
WOw that is great. That might be my best choice trying to figure how to get rid of the old schedules if I can just reset the hub and use HAs new schedules. That would be fabulous. Curious if anyone else has tried yet. Just to get more data on this!
Has anyone else tried this method yet?
I need to clear out a few schedules as well.
Thanks!
I did a factory reset after HA was all set up and it cleared out the old schedules and left everything else still there. Worked perfect for me.
You have probably already reset the hub, but the Insteon app is currently running again. I deleted all Insteon scenes and schedules using the Insteon app on the Samsung phone. I don’t think my Windows app is able to connect, but at least the phone app did.
