Is it possible to give the generic thermostat the same possibilities as the mqtt thermostat?
For example, the generic only supports heat, cool, off, while the mqtt supports auto, heat, cool, off, fan.
Well, it depends - mine shows operation_list: heat, off
And I have no idea what auto
means
Auto means that you set 2 setpoints, one for cooling, one for heating. The zone between those two points is called the ‘dead zone’ and the thermostat doesn’t perform heating nor cooling.
Thanks for the explanation.
I think in case of central heating (not HVAC) it’s the same as heat because there is only 1 setpoint (for heating).
